Grand Sri Lankan New Year Festival at Vihara

Date: Sunday, April 14th

Vihara members have taken all steps to hold a grand Sri Lankan New Year festival at the Vihara on Sunday, April 14th.

Program:

• 8:15 am: The event begins with the auspicious ritual of boiling milk followed by the morning Puja.
• 8:30 am: අලුත් අවුරුදු කෑම මේසය: New Year breakfast table for all prepared by the Vihara members
• 9:00 am: Children’s dramas and performances. Each class will present a performance, including a Sinhala drama by the students of the two advanced classes.
• 10:00 am: Musical performances by the children and teachers of the music classes.
• 10:30 am: දරුවන් විසින් දෙමාපියන්ට බුලත් දීම.
• 10:40 am: හිසතෙල් ගෑම.
• 11:00 am: Registration and children’s outdoor games begin.
• 1:00 pm: Lunch (Pali Silva will cater lunch boxes with rice and several curries, fruits, and ice cream for $10 per box.)
• 2:00 pm: Children’s and adults’ games continue.
• 3:30 pm: Tea and snacks.
• 4:00 pm: Winners and all participating children receive gift cards offered by Dr. Deva and Dr. Lilani family.
